Description

This “Handsome Fellow”, the Cyclops bust was inspired by the Cyclops sculpture that graced the entrance to the Spook-A-Rama ride in Coney Island. Originally built in 1955, the Spook-A-Rama is the oldest “dark ride” in Coney Island. It was also at one point the longest dark ride in America. The Cyclops sculpture was probably inspired by the monster movies that were popular at the time. It is a wonderful example of the type of craftsmanship and creativity that exemplifies the classic spirit of Coney Island.
